Has this been solved? Is there a way to play Premiere timeline on an external reference monitor (like a Flanders or even a Dreamcolor) when using 4K Red footage with a Red Rocket card? Playback is great in the source and playback monitors within Premiere, but I'm looking for full screen playback on a reference monitor.

The only solution for HDSDI 10bit monitoring is : Quadro 4000 or more + SDI daughter card(Windows machine,Premiere). For HDMI 10 bit monitoring : Quadro 4000 or more thru the Displayport(Windows ,Premiere).

And this works from the Premiere Timeline, with a Red Rocket, real time playback, HD SDI out of the Quadro daughter card to a broadcast reference monitor? Do you know if this is an Adobe approved solution?

Yes,this is for instance the only Adobe approved solution for 10 bit HDSDI out from the timeline of Premiere;they are working on solutions with BM and others cards.
The Red Rocket makes the full debayering.

How come I can use it with BM DeckLink 3D+ now? Not the RedRocket, but with the Mercury Engine, there is no need to use it for monitoring. Am I just lucky?

You can't use Red presets and monitor with a BM card so you are using the BM presets for monitoring R3D on an HDSDI monitor with good results?

Yes. Am I lucky? Never have had a problem...

Jean,

I have a MacPro, 12 Core (hyper-threaded = 24), 24GB RAM, Rocket, BM DeckLink 3D+. I use the 1080p uncompressed BMD presets (turn off the drop frame option, or your system will be stopping so many times).

Oh, and select "Scale to Frame" option. It must be on for you to see the entire frame.

So you are playing the sequence in real time on an external monitor through HDMI or DVI or SDI?

I am in the middle of grading a feature for TV, so cannot give more information now due to project due-days timeline. But, as soon as I can, I will post all the setting I am using, and achieving to monitor via HD-SDI and HDMI, out of DeckLink 3D+ and/or HDLink.

I conform back all my projects using the FCP Roundtrip from Resolve using Premiere since I have much more flexibility and assurance of having a 10bit final exporting. Thing that I cannot have any assurance from FCP...

Right click the clip, and the option will be there.
