I think this has been asked before, maybe by myself. But I can't seem to remember what the solution was.
When opening my project, consisting mostly of R3D files, Premiere starts to link to files, and counts down. Even generates Peak Files for some of them.
But in project window all files are just grey boxes, and I can't play anything. I can scroll the timeline, but no image is on screen.
Typically, when I try to quit Premiere when in this condition, it looks like it's going to quit, but the icon is not going away, and I must Force Quit Premiere.
When I try to check the links from the bin, they DO point to the correct files. It's just that they're grey, and unplayable.
Even happens with non R3D files. (Some Prores 4444 files)
Seems to be related to the project, because some other projects do work fine.
If I recall, this was happening sometimes before, but a restart and such usually resolved it.
Running:
New Mac Pro
D700
64 GB
Areca Raid.

Tried creating a new project and imported the old one. Seems to work now. But still would like to understand this, as this probably again will happen after some time.
