  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Premiere CS6 -Unknown Error Compiling- in Export, Rendering and Project Trimming

I'm having a similar problem... deleting the RMD files seems to solve it.

This used to happen to me when my timeline contained very high-resolution graphics. By scaling down the graphics to match the output size (ex. 1920x1080) then scaling to frame (for a 6K HD project), it eliminated that unknown error issue for me. I hate those errors with a passion because yeah, they can be intermittent. Works over a spot one time and not the next. But yeah, large resolution images/graphics in my timeline was the culprit for a lot of my past "unknown error" issues. One was a corrupt .R3D frame that I was able to spot by exporting the clip from Redcine-X then looking at the log. Redcine-X would identify the exact frame that was corrupt, which allowed me to work to find a workaround.

So in summary, these "unknown error" issues for me have happened for two reasons:

1. Very high-resolution images/graphics (reduce size to fix)
2. Corrupt frame in a .R3D clip (export the questionable clip in Redcine-X to see if that particular clip is the offender and then identify the exact frame that's the culprit via the export log)

Hope this helps someone.

I have also been experience compelling errors in Premiere. I have found that they are usually due to certain effects that have been applied to .R3D files. Sometime clearing the cache helps it out...going to try the aftereffects solution next time I have this problem.

I can simply not even count how many times I had sleepless nights trying to bounce a project to a file.
Adobe Premiere Pro CC2014 is really not working. It's so bugged...
My CUDA is not working. It eats way to much ram for what it should. And I get "Error Compiling Video" all the time.
It's really not a dependable tool anymore and I am getting frustrated!
