I just bought the Adobe Cloud last week and am loving it so far. I used Premiere back around 6.5-7.0 and then switched to FCP and hadn't looked back for years. But I'm back into Adobe after getting a new computer, and I've switched without much problem.

Right now I'm cutting a highlight video, I have an AIFF track as the only audio playing under some footage I shot in Boston. However, when I preview it it will play fine and then the music will drop and stop. If I stop it and continue, it plays again for a moment and then stops again.

I haven't had this problem on any other projects, just this one. I tried converting the track to WAV and it does the same thing.

Any idea what's causing this?

Could be a few things.....have you rendered the audio specifically?? There is a command for that. What's the bitrate of the AIFF track. Depending on the format, Premiere likes to work in 32bit audio, so it may be an issue with the CFA file if it's conformed it. If so, close your project, delete all CFA and PEK files associated with the AIFF (there may be multiple copies of the save PEK, delete all those too), then open the project again.

This, unfortunately, is a known issue. File a big report, and cross your fingers that it'll be fixed in CS7.

I have found that throwing more RAM at the problem helps, but not always. Can;t figure out the rhyme or reason that this happens. A reboot usually helps.
