Does this mean that we won't need RedRocket for realtime editing and fast export to other formats?

As much as this news is mind blowing..but i am still PREFER to see something revolutionary done on After Effects.
According to http://cs5.org/ Adobe CS5 will ship in April. That means there are still more than 4 months, during which many things may happen. So IMO, we should wait and see, how things will go.shall one start thinking of getting geforce gtx 285 now, or wait till the release of cs5 and the new Fermi cards?
Adobe and Invidia tried to deliver GPU power to CS4 (remember quadro CX: the Adobe accelerator), but nothing special happened. CS5 will be another story, at least for Premiere.also will cs4 benefit from having gtx 285 instead of 9600GT that I have now??
Since most of my day seems to be spent switching between preview resolutions and watching the little blue/green RAM preview bar inch along the timeline I would be REALLY happy about a lightning fast AE.
I'm happy with Premiere/RED workflow as it stands.

Nothing kills creativity than the image you're working on turning into something that resembles an 8 bit video game character throwing up on the sidewalk :emote_headwall:
I would dearly love to be able to get a beta copy of CS5. Dave
Every day I regret selling my 744T. It had been sitting on the shelf. Now I seem to be wanting it all the time.Steve,
I'd like to see more timecode support.. You know, taking external audio, and then matching the video via timecode for one or multiple tracks.
Better native color support
REAL time scopes that can play along with video, instead of one or the other.
Those are the first things that come to mind
Jay
This will be standard stuff within 6-12 months for major NLE software package. Both Microsoft and Apple have 64bit OS's. Apple with snow leopard has enabled the ability to leverage as many processors and GPU cores as you have available with their Grand Central and Open CL frameworks. We should expect nothing less than Final Cut and even iMovie to support multiprocessing and GPU acceleration via those Apple frameworks in the next 6-9 months.
