I did install the Adobe Labs EPIC Importer, however when I import the file into the timeline (2k 25fps), its says damaged or unsupported file. When I use RED Cine Pro, it plays fine. Am I missing something??? Help guys.

Did you install all the updates?

Because it sort of works without any fiddling. Once its set up, it just plays any .r3d like any other media.

(On another note ... I had to import a flash video yesterday ... just dropped it on the timeline and it worked.)

I think so it's updated, I'll chk it. And just try to drag the file onto the timeline.

I got the same thing... However... when I was going to install the Epic upgrades, the system told me that those files already existed and that the existing version was newer. I assumed Adobe already had everything in place.... no go. Then went back and DID replace the newer Red Importers with the Epic Upgrade downloads and voila, all good.

Asif, you on Mac or PC? It's a bit tricky installing the Epic Importer on Mac... as you have to right click the Premier App and select "Show package contents" then drop the appropriate bits into the proper locations and the directions don't explain that very well.

Happened here as well, but some how i got it working. Here's what i did.....

First: within Premier, go to help, then updates....do any updates that show up.
Second: go to: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=98&platform=Macintosh Install latest 5.5.1 version according to your copy: if it was download OR Boxed version....
...ONce that update has been done, I restart the computer......
Then do the RED IMPORTER updates AGAIN....

Upon full install, RESTART computer AGAIN....open Premier and WALLAH---it all either works or your f_$%ckd

Thanks everyone, I think I messed up initially on the locations of the install (or was it because me Premiere was not updated) However, did a fresh install and followed the instructions like a space monkey :-) it started working. But what I have noticed is you have to select the .r3d file from each folder (or just search for .r3d from the parent directory and all the .r3ds will show up, select all and it will be in the bin)

Now that it is working and me not using RED Rocket, the payback even at 1/8th of the res, my iMac 2011 4core is not good enough for it.

Also I am new to this, the workflow for editing and then doing the color correction is bit hazy for me now.

any suggestions.
