A user on these boards is selling a software solution that addresses this issue:

Hello,
I am a beginner at premiere cc and the way I get to work from premiere to cineX and back is really slow at the moment.
There must be a faster way?

I know you can right click on the footage and open the source settings window to edit, but I would rather like to edit in red cine x as it is more complete.

So far from the timeline I have to proceed this way which has way too many clicks imo:

Is there a way for premiere to automatically reload the rmd directly after you "edited the original"?

thank you

One step that you can take out now, I just noticed in the last update of Premiere CC, is you no longer have to select reveal in project in order to select a clips source settings. You can simply right click any clip in the timeline and adjust source settings there. This is a great update, but I agree that a way to update all RMD settings at the same time would be a huge time saver if possible.

To reload RMD of more than one R3D file in the same time, select those files in the project window, and open "source setting", then "reload from RMD"..
The RMD of all the files will update..

Wrong be careful about this. that is another bug that adobe needs to fix.

When you do that premiere applies the first selected rmd to all the files. It does not reload the rmd of all the files.

I went through the pop up menu from the timeline 3 times and I don't have that option.
How are you doing it?

A quick question that is vaguely related: I watched the RED tutorial on working with Premiere, which includes the instruction:

Right click on file in Project window > Select 'Source Settings'.
Then, Right click on file in Project window > Select 'Edit Original' > The file opens up in Red Cine-X Pro.

Make a change in Red Cine-X Pro (eg Desaturate to B&W) > Click "reload from RMD" back in Premiere and the change should be reflected here...

But for me, it isn't!!!

Do you have any idea what I may be doing wrong?

Your method is correct.
Try changing the white balance to one of the extremes and see if that transfers to premiere.
I believe some of the cinex adjustments such as the alchemy group is not taken into account by premiere when reloading the rmd. Maybe your adjustment is one of them I'm in holidays I can't test it for you sorry

I use thye fallen empire script all the time...

Edit in CC...
Export finalCut XML ...
Import into redcine
Do first light grade....
Run the fallen empire reset RMD program...
Open up the new project it creates....

As far as alchemy ect....
Anything you don't see in the PPro source settings won't be available to PPro yet.....

Thanks Karim,

Tried that, doesn't seem to make any difference. Let me know if you have any other suggestions :)
