  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Premiere and Epic Files

Did you guys let Adobe know that they have problems with the updater and the plug-ins? I'm sure it could be easily fixed on their side if people let them know. Especially considering the solution exists and their input is minimal.

There's been discussion on this for a while (since the last CS6 update) - seems Adobe's answer, for now, is to use this method...

We reloaded everything and all is fine now.

Glad all us OK

Let's hope for a neater/included set of Red support when there's the next CS6 update.

How are you doing it? I've used CS6 for well over a year now, as a part of their test team... I've never had a single issue.

Are you bringing them in through the Media Browser? If so, have you selected the "RED" file format in the "view as" portion of the upper left side of window? What about "Files of Type"? Make sure that says either R3D/Red or "all supported files." If not, you won't see the material.

(Please look at the photo... you'll see the check boxes I'm talking about... all of these files are ONLY R3D files.

Good luck. Let us know how you do!

Its safe to say if your using Prem Cs6 and R3D files then your on the "the test" team cause its not so stable on all stations, for example macbook retina...having lots of issues with CUDA, with RED rocket supportm maybe they fixed some of this by now. I do really like premier RED workflow, when it works...so hopefully they will release an update for us apple users soon, otherwise my rocket thundbolt addon is not so useful. Anyone interested to buy it let me know ;)

EDIT...I did some test today and this was my findings .
I am using 6.0.2 on the rMBP 10.8.2 and it appears to be working since I updated the new rocket update. The only way I figured how to get fast exports with this set up is to match clip settings and export setting to match seq settings. On a 2 min clip its taking 4 min to export (5K) so half real time export. Although it defaults my export to 1920x1080 when I select the "match seq settings" option even though my source is a 5k seq...I would like to be able to export 5k if I can. I am getting real time playback at 1/2 resolution. These half results are to be expected as the thunderbolt is the bottleneck here. This was a 5k 2:1 video. Will post more more as I Am really trying to hammer down this workflow.
