The "Analyze" option is greyed out in the Metadata window. Further google searching implies that it may be a permissions issue as XMP data is written into the footage directly (NOT a good idea) or in an XMP sidecar file. My permissions allow creation of XMP sidecars but NOT modification to the R3D's yet I still cannot gain access to this feature.

Under Preferences > Media I have this as well:
UNCHECKED - Write XMP ID to Files on Import
CHECKED - Enable Clip and XMP Metadata Linking

Shot R1 NONMX - 4.5K 23.976, audio is a mix of dual system and embedded, problem persists with both.

Does anybody else have this working with RED footage?

It doesn't yet work with RED footage, sorry

David, is this problem related to the fact that PP is unable to import audio that is included in an R3D file or is there more to it?

Are you referring to importing audio recorded in camera separate from the R3D? All my R1 R3D's seem to work just fine with onboard audio in CS5.5. I'm in the middle of a project so I haven't tried the beta epic importer yet. The issue for me is that the analyze function won't play ball.

We fully support audio in RED files... However, when we released our Epic support RED didn't have support for Epic audio so we couldn't support that.

Cheers
