Hi.

Has anyone used a remote follow focus with RED yet?
How does a follow focus get power from RED ? Is that power connector enabled and ready?

I'm shooting a music video in early October. A great deal of it will be hand held at night with minimal light. So I'm sure we'll be wide open or close to wide open. The focal plane is going to be thin... so remote focus will be necessary.

Hi,

I believe the Birger mount with follow focus AND the RedMotor will be powered by Lemo connectors to the red body. Both wires available, I know Birgers you must pay extra for, but at $1400 for the whole kit it's cheap as you like. Not sure about RedMotor but I'm sure it will be included.

Can other remote follow focus systems be used with the RED system?

hey doon

the output is 12V lemo in front it looks like std pro steadicam config. would sure be nice if the pin outs were published, but can always make a cable to the preston or bartech

Does anyone know of any alternative ways of powering the Birger mount? I have a Birger on my Red One but both aux 12v outputs on the back of the camera have stopped working and therefore I can't power up the mount. Are there any ways of powering the mount with batteries via a lemo cable?
