Hey everyone,

I was wondering if it is possible to power my Quasar Science Q25R 2ft tube via a v-mount battery. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Best,
Tanner

Complicated. A v-mount battery is plenty sufficient, but the internals of the Quasar tube are wired for 120v AC, therefore unless you have the knowledge on how to circumvent the internal transformer you'll need to convert the DC to AC (lose about 25% efficiency) using a converter.

I usually keep a couple inverters with 4 pin xlrs in the bag of tricks. A 300 watt inverter wired to an AB plate should work fine.

The Q25R can be powered by battery. This from the product page:

DC Battery option: Grab a battery, RGB-X Rainbow Lamps can run off of 10-26 VDC via locking 2.1mm x 5.5 barrel connector.

They also have this for sale:

QUASAR LINEAR BATTERY PACK

You can buy a d-tap to dc barrel connector on amazon. I use it to power my 4’ quasar rainbows. The only issue is it isn’t a locking barrel connector so you have to be a little careful. Quasar also released a battery mount like 2 days ago that uses Sony batts. Costs $250 but is pretty cool. Made specifically for the rainbows. Only available on their website as of today.

Yes , Quasar can use V lock battery to power it .You can check with Quasar , they have the connect cable which connect D-TAP of battery to power it . Andy who is one of CEO of Quasar , he like to use Dynacore DN-310S(310wh) to power their light . Because most of their light have big watts , require high current . Dynacore DN-310S can reach their current require .
If you need Dynacore battery , please check more from https://dynacoreus.com/ .
