I have been using my dtap to power wireless focus and the transmitter, but what if I have three motors, zoom control, etc?

What's the best thing to power these for EPIC?

Thanks!

Action product Power modules + apollo. For 3000$ you can power pretty much everything at the same time. Cinetape, extra lcd, downconverter, wireless FF, wireless HD, Redmote... and you have ports to spare...

Thank you.. Surely there must be something less expensive that is compatible with my current setup..

I have a special power box with custom connectors (4 pins xlr, 3 pins arri, p-tap, USB...) all in one box that attaches to my Anton Bauer plate. Less than 1000$ and it powers my preston, cinetape, video sender, decimator, charges my red mote (usb) and I still have 4 outputs available and a voltmeter to complement that box.
I will put pictures when my EPIC comes back from it's shoot next week.

Are you selling them? V-mount option?

I'm not but David Hable does. He can put a v-mount if you want to. You can reach him at www.crampedattic.com but wait for my picture next week, you will have a better understanding of the possibilities . All he does is custom jobs. You choose the dimension of the box and the connectors you want (in and outs) and he will make it. The guy is a magician. Not the cheapest solution but surely the most satisfying as it will be built around your preferences, not the other way around.
Cheers.

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics but you get the idea. I bolted the "power box" to a Matrix plate from Anton Bauer and I use 15mm rods at the back of the camera (top or bottom) to hold it all. The QRC-EPIC plate with EPIC power cable was bolted and wired to the box so power from battery goes to the box and to the camera.
You have 2 X 12v 4 pins XLR, 1 X p-tap (there is 2 other on the AB plate) , 2 x ARRI 3 pins (12v), 2 USB ports (5v). Of course, everything is customizable, any connector you wish can be added. The box itself could have been smaller if I did not asked for so many connectors.
On the other side is the blue LED voltmeter (off at the moment) that gives a precise reading of the battery attached.
Thanks to David Hable at www.crampedattic.com for putting all of this together. Service from him is A1 and I have dealt with David for many years, the guy keeps a low profile marketing wise but his stuff speaks by itself.

David does great work. He built my power accessory/hot swap box for the RED One. And his prices are very, very reasonable. He's working on a box that will include 12/24v conversion for myself and some others. Highly recommended.

Wow! I wouldn't know where to start!

Thank you so much for this!

Any pictures of it on your EPIC would be great.. Still trying to figure out how it attaches to the EPIC

Wow, nice!!

Id love that in a small ;-) just lemos maybe?

Thanks for the pic..

Also, how much?

The power box itself with AB plate is about 800$ , you still have to add your support (in that case , the anton bauer Matrix plate with 15mm adapters) .
As I stated earlier, those boxes are fully customisable. You choose the size and connectors and David will make it.

For something smaller, I have a small delrin block milled out and it has 4 x 4pin hirose connectors on it. It's 2 inches long and attaches with velcro (other end is d-tap). Some how, from long ago when I had a steadicam efp, my AKS started getting 4 pin hirose connectors, and then the Varicam, and HDX900 had them as well, so all my stuff now powers off of them. You could certainly make one with lemos as well.

I had these made up in the UK by Hawk Woods (www.hawkwoods.com)

3 x RS 3 pin and 3 x Dtap - isolated and regulated between camera and accessories (with a switch to turn off accessories so they don't drain the battery)

£265 plus local VAT - fits with standard screws to any Red battery plate - I use the old Red One Quickplate.

They also do a version with 24/12v split for powering from blocks and any custom version you require (4 pin XLR etc)

Highly recommended - speak to Brian

David Hable made this for me to hot swap on my Red One and provide accessory power out. It was very affordable. Terrific guy. Will make you whatever you want.

He is now making me an accessory power box that will "sandwich" between a gold mount and a battery. It will have a 12-24 converter so it can provide both 12v accessory outs and 24v power for remote FF.
