Powerful Dutch Afghanistan Documentary; Armadillo

[Mark Whatmore]

'Armadillo' - Some very powerful documentary work (not Red I think) following Danish soldiers at war - http://vimeo.com/16441823

Heard a great interview with the director of this film on the BBC and read a good review here - http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/apr/04/war-films?intcmp=239

Hmmm! It is a Danish doc about Danish soldiers in Afganistan. Maybe the Dutch connection is that (if I'm not mistaken) it premiered on the International Doc. Festival in Amsterdam and received the first prize there (or rather: here).

[Sidney L. Plaut]

+1 for danish... not dutch

[Anthony Rinaldi]

It was probably just an honest mistake. Danish and Dutch seem to be oft confused until you start talking about deserts and dykes.

got the bluray and its 1080i.this is better than Restrepo

I am actually in the helicopter (Pave Hawk) you see at 2:11 in the trailer, it was quite a mission and created a bond between U.S. Rescue and the Danes in the field. As far as I know it has not been released in the U.S. yet, still waiting to see the finished film.

[Sanjin Jukic]

It's a Danish documentary

Filmmakers: Janus Metz Pedersen - Director, Kasper Torsting - Writer (idea), Ronnie Fridthjof - Producer, Sara Stockmann - Producer, Lars Skree - Cinematographer

But ofcourse, the main point is, it's supposed to be a really fine doc.

Apologies to all - particularly the Dutch and Danish - I've corrected the original mistake. Still a good film though....
