Hi Greg, you dont have to format the SSD REDmag if you already have footage on the card. Did you format the SSD already? Have you tried putting the latest (force_uprade) build on the mag that you shot with and then powered the camera on?

I have tried putting the force_upgrade in and it does nothing :*(

And I pulled the data off the card anyway

Open a support ticket - sounds like there may be a hardware problem.

What does the power LED do when you turn th camera on?

I did open a support ticket, 77967.

Power LED turns red to amber.

was the camera in a housing?

You've probably already tried this, but strip the camera down to the bare bones (body and direct power supply) and see if it'll boot. I had to do that once after doing a fireware upgrade. No matter what I did the camera wouldn't boot (much like yours). I unplugged everything (monitor, side handle, pulled the SSD Card, etc) and it booted up and I never had the problem again.

@ Pawel

Well yes it was in my housing however I heard the epic is so epic it should just repel water on its own, I am not brave enough to try this yet!

Actually its very depressing to some degree given one of my lights was DOA too.. Makes me want to give up sometimes even more so when my rebreather tried to kill me.. more than once :D

@ Shawn

Yeah I tried removing everything and powering it by battery or AC sadly none worked. I talked with RED and they are going to issue a return for me. I got to send it back and they will "degremlin" the thing.

It never went above 53c I kept a eye on it. Although the water temp was pretty cold.. Well cold for me <(o.o<(

I think the water temp was around 22 degrees depending. I wear a drysuit in Hawaii
