Just wanted to let those who plan to use an Anton Bauer Titan 70 power supply with your Red Camera...it won't work. I was hoping that I'd be able to use it as it mounts directly to the camera. No such luck. BTW, J-Lab had a camera mounted power supply available at their booth that looked very nice though a bit pricey at $700, but it had two 4 pin power outs as well as powering the camera while mounted. Don't know if it will work with Red. Anyone else have any camera mounted power supply info?

Ya it only puts out like 60w or 70w, and the Red needs at least 90 I think. Don't quote me on those numbers but my feeble memory recalls something like that.

When I looked into this I learned a few things:

1. basically only RED chargers with built in mains power have sufficient amps/watts to run the camera.

2. the RED charger has a fan and that's noise...so not a good option if you're recording sound :)

3. so buy a RED wall power source from red.com

4. AB dionic 90's are insufficiently strong for RED cameras. They will not last long. The AB people I talked to strongly recommended against using them with RED because it pulls high amps. They will work out for you in a pinch, but are not recommended as your usual, everyday batteries.

5. Further to point 4, on a recent shoot we had not option but to use dionic 90s...due to resulting power problems I am placing an order for RED batteries today and will simply have to deal with the airline problems I was trying to avoid.

6. I've heard the hytron 140's are doing much better.

good shooting!
