I still have a hard drive but can't find the AC adapter
Anyone remember the voltage needed and the polarity?
Thanks

For what it is worth, in three feature films shot with the RED One, we never once used the power supply. It drew all the current it needed from the computer.

And we never once had a problem.

thanks alot you are help new owners.

I just noticed my 320GB drives struggle while it connected via firewire cable without power, its makes a funny rattling sounds, and one of the drives gets warm, but the 128GB works fine. Do you know how many volts adapter i need to power the drive?

It was always best practice to power from an AC when using the Firewire port on the RED drives:
Powering those RED drives with the Firewire connector (no AC) put one at risk of blowing out the firewire port.

I had it happen to one of my RED drives and many others reported the same.

I do remember buying a 3rd party AC from Amazon for I believe $15 (this is over 10 years ago).

I forgot the needed volts and amperage but you might be able to get that info from tech support at RED.
I imagine they might have some old RED Drives laying around or in house support manuals that have that info.

I am currently using 12v 3A and works perfectly fine. I tried 12v 2A i discovered the Ac adapter was struggling. Check out image below.
