  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Power Problem With Red Mount

I haven't had the melting problem, but if a butterfly lands on the battery while the camera is powered up it will shut down. The "v-lock" is poorly named since there is no "lock" involved.

My battery plate is a couple of months old, so I don't know if it is the revised version. If it is, there needs to be another revision.

Check the images of the new plate in my earlier post (2). Does yours have the extra side supports highlighted by the red arrows ?

If it does it should be the new one.
 
Thanks Geoff for pointing out the difference. Looks like my new plate is the old design. Dagnabbit. Looks like I may have the opportunity to buy yet another new plate.
 
Larry, if you have an older gen plate giving you issues, send it in and we'll swap it out for current gen.

Note that replacement plates do NOT come with screws so don't sent them back to use with an old gen plate.

Has anyone been using the new mount for awhile? I had my camera out this weekend on a short (lucky it wasn't a paying client!) and the camera lost power at least 10 times in two days when it got bumped. I'm hoping the next plate will work better. If it won't, then I'm going to buy an IDX plate or something to replace the RED plate.

I have the older mount and would like to upgrade what would I need to do? Also I agree on the gold mount, I have always found the anton bauer batteries perform much better.
 
ohhh much better design! I NEED THAT! :) every time I bump the camera it will loose power connection. I bet this new design fixes that! :)
