Hello,

I was wondering if anyone is using this setup.

CAMTREE V-lock mount works well with the scarlet?
Does the battery powers the side handle?

Camtree V-mount

Power-u

Thanks for the help!

Thanks Akin,

That thread is old and I posted a link to a battery review there.
Now there are new batteries from the same company!

lol, oh, I just realized you that it was you who posted yesterday to that thread.

That Camtree looks like it only has one output, a single d-tap, judging from the images. Might be worth getting a plate with multiple outputs for difference accessories.
I don't believe the DSMC side handle requires its own power.

I haven't bought my Red gear yet, but as of now, my likely combo will be Switronix JP-V-EPIC + Power-U 190Wh.

I'm rather weary of these cheaper battery plates, because I've seen quite a few posts about them having power leaks and the like. I'd rather see you with a Switronix as well.

As for the batteries, they're usually fine as long as they meet the power draw of the camera. Just be sure to switch them out before they hit 12.0V, as some of the cheaper models will dim out earlier than anticipated.

Thanks for the replies! I may go with the Switronix. I like power features.

Thanks,
Santos

I am using the camtree vlock plate, can't complain, d tap out suits me perfect, have my atomos blade powered off it permanently. Bit stiff to lock it to the cam body but I have no fault with it. About 3months in and reasonable abuse its taken with out issue. Infact all their cage and accessories are very good and cheap enough to modify to your needs.

Cheers
