  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Power Down for lens changes?

Only time i do is if in an dusty environment to minimise dust been sucked in by the fan but otherwise never.

I only do this when it's time to change the battery soon (to do it in "one step" - as for dust & co; as a DIT/camera assistant I always carry a mount-cap with me to avoid this)... but usually; no time for a power-down between shorter takes - especially in run & gun or live/docu situations... If there appears to be any problems or glitches after a lens-change (you usually should see it on the monitoring-path, so always keep an eye on your monitoring) you'll still have the time for a reboot...

as long as you don't point directly towards piercing sun or other very very bright or dangerous light sources (e.g. Laser or an open fire/glow-source or focussed/burn-pinted spots or curved mirrors) I don't see any problem… For changing the lens you can always use the "cover-mount with-flat-hand" method or if it takes you longer you can mount a mount cap (the plastic ones should do it) in the meantime…
