Brad, have you weighed your rig in this configuration? I'm thinking of putting together a very similar rig and am curious about how much it weights with all that extra metal :)
I've never weighed it like this. I never seem to have the Scarlet and a scale at the same time. It's not exactly light, but neither were those old Betacams. I'd say it's around 12-17lbs.

Yes, I'm using an RRS ballhead, but the panorama setup is from 360Precision. The rotatators from RRS doesn't have click stops.

Really Right Stuff FTW.

Looks like you're using their Ballhead and Pano QR Clamps but the extension arms are custom, why not their Pano Gimbal head setup?

GINI rig - pretty much copy from ViewFactor

I scored a decent deal on eBay for a cage and a rod riser. I've already got his DSLR rig which is of fantastic quality, so if the Scarlet stuff is more or less the same quality, I got a steal.

I'll post pictures when my Scarlet and my cage arrives.

Dmitry, wow am I confused. That cage was that cheap, and it arrived? No dodgeyness/scam?

I'm looking at this and don't know what to make of it, because there is nothing that comes even close to as cheap as this http://camera777.com/dslr-rig/41-pro-kit-for-red-scalet.html

I do not know what to make of this.

I'm pretty sure it's not a scam. Others have gotten the same product here, they're just not vocal about it.

And the reason why it's so cheap? They're a 'cloning' business. Almost no time spent in R&D, labour is cheap, and there's almost no overhead to deal with since they're just found online. The only difference between this product and others, is that it's a Korean guy pressing the button on the CNC mill, and not an American or a German. They're made to the exact same tolerances and use the same billet aluminum. Not sure about their anodizing though.

Here is a look at my rig. Scarlet-X AL with CinemaOxide IDX Plate, Wooden camera bottom plate w/ 15mm rods clamps and top handle, RedRockMicro Matte box and Follow Focus Blue. Another setup includes the Zacuto EVF mounted off the handle.

@ Jospeh

GiniRigs are a Korean manufacturer well know within DLSR circles with a solid track record. They have now branched out into creating rigs for Epic/ Scarlet. Whilst I don't own a cage, I do own some rail components & a FF. The build is exceptional, comparable to Zacuto or Berkey, the pricing structure is also exceptional, in a good way. If you jump on US Ebay & look under Red Scarlet or Epic you will see what I mean. I have seen the cage Dimtry has, go for $199. A word about their pricing policy, its all over the place, some items are listed as Buy it Now for $1200, whilst the same item will have a no reserve price @ $199 go figure.

Currently GiniRigs has this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CAMERA-Supp...ultDomain_0&hash=item3cc7f76b9d#ht_500wt_1185

a whole rig including cage, handles, follow focus & shoulder Pad for $499 no reserve . They also have one at 99 cents with no reserve!@$# , no way will it go for that but if your on a tight budget worth considering. In terms of payment & postage I have never had a problem....they are solid.

Hey Patrick

Nice setup ...I see what you mean by a sore back.....do you have assistants helping you ?

I was reflecting back on the "old days" on getting similar shots with Elemac "Spiders", jibs & hot heads & three grips & 2 trucks and long set up times. Its amazing how far gear has come........a lot more sore backs then.

Assistants ... well ... my wife holds the door to the backyard ... and kicks my ass as i leave. But I mainly do everything myself ... it's the rails that are about 6 feet off the ground that are a killer ... I normally have around 30 feet of rails. This is for a personal project so I do most things myself ... (i'm on the finance side ... so normally I don't even get to touch a camera ... let alone deal with the grip rigs ... so is a bit like playing with my Dad's tools while he was off at work;)

No wonder the sore back...my back's getting twinges by reading the 30ft or rail bit !
