My system 2.8Ghz Mac, 8GB RAM, Latest FCP, QT and RED software. AJA Kona LHe.

FCP project setting: 'AJA Kona 10 bit uncompressed'
Sequence setting: AJA Kona 625 for DV.

Shooting 4K, 2:1 with the latest build. For the very first job I just used the M files to edit, color correct and the client was very happy with the pictures so I didn't even have to access the raw files, etc.

Delivery: 720x576 SD on Betacam, DV and SD DVD.

My questions:
1. Are the 'M' movies good enough for broadcast?

2. Once we work on a file in Redcine (change its ISO setting for e.g.) does that change automatically reflect in the F,H,M or Proxy files?

Thanks

1. "Good enough" is a relative term. Good enough for what kind of broadcast?
For news: I'd generally (and with a lot of reservations) say: Yes
For feature work: Not by a mile

2. Changes in RC does not affect the proxies to my knowledge...

I have the same system, minus the AJA card. I cut using the H proxies that I was able to use in REAL TIME. The I added a Soft Focus filter to mildly smooth out the jaggies, without really affecting the sharpness too much. Then through compressor to DV, NTSC, etc.
