  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Post RED DAY gathering?

Anyone interested in a late lunch, before the 4 p.m.? I'm going directly to the airport after the 4-7 event.

Cheers,

Jim

Oh golly.. Red Studios is close to A LOT of places. What are your requirements? Veg, alcohol, mex, american, italian, fusion, historic, well-known.. all of the above..?

Nearby is the ArcLight Cinemas.. easy to get libations, food, be noisy... go watch movies or go shop Amoeba Records... or scoot up to Hollywood.. there is Hollywood and Highland (Kodak Theater) and pub/grills down the street like Pig n Whistle, Musso & Frank..

Hey guys. I just saw this in description of the place
Good for: Dinner, Late Night
Alcohol: None

Wow, planning fail on my part. So that place is also just a taco stand.

Now this place is awesome. They serve alcohol. They have "crack" bacon (which is soo good). If you watch Top Chef the owner is former contestant Betty. It's small but damn good. If you're in the 4pm group go here for lunch. If your in the noon group like I am, let us descend upon this place like a plague of locust for late lunch/ dinner.

I am in the 4p - 7p session

Here are three options I like that are not too far from the Studio.

I chose on them having big bars, solid menus, and generally not being too crazy crowded (or having extra “back rooms”). I figure people will want to drink but also be wanting to eat around then. These are good starter places which are in the neighborhood of lots of other places.

The Well on Sunset near the Arclight, pretty low key, its a bar with lots of snacks and eats, they tend to not ever get too crowded, its not sit down tables more booths, seats, and banquets

Village Idiot on Melrose - this is what they call in England a Gastro Pub, really solid nice food, beers and liquor . Its a little pricer than the others but they have really nice food (both snack type stuff and Full on Dinners).

If I remember they have a room at the back, which we might be able to call ahead for. One reason I thought of it.

I like the Village Idiot a lot. But, wanted to give an option.

Feel free to PM me as well with your contact info. Looking forward to meeting people.

Seems like there's a lot of different wishes and suggestions. Maybe we can all meet outside the studio after the session and take it from there. I'm up definitely up for grabbing some food somewhere and we can take it from there. Hope to see you all.

Yes, that makes sense. Although I was one of the people who suggested a place I'd rather have as big a group as possible (and the chance to meet more people).

So, Tony I will PM you my mobile and keep an eye out for you.

For others feel free to PM me your number and I'll txt U back if we don't happen to meet in person.

Excited to see RED Day and meet all the strangers who I see here on reduser.

Downtown Independent is open and we have beer and nearby restaurants... we're playing WAITING FOR ARMAGEDDON all day... I'll be at the morning session.

I'm assuming RED Day attendees will get to keep their badges, so your badge will get you in to the theater for free on saturday and, space permitting, half price tickets for David Lynch's WILD AT HEART at 10:30PM on sunday(hopefully my colleagues don't killl me for inviting a bunch of REDusers to our valentines day movie)

Is that your theatre?

I have to say it's a very cool space and very well run.
