Hello, I am currently on set with a feature film and were using The RED ONE with the firmware 20 upgrade shooting at 4K 16:9, And im taking the files into REDrushes and doing a transcode to 1k in there then ingesting them into final cut pro, THis method seems to work great for what were wanting with the color grading options but i Was just wandering about other RED users approach to editing, Thanks ahead of time for the suggestions

Couple of questions.

Are you doing an initial color pass in RED Alert?

What will be your color correcting process? Will you be using Color or going to higher end systems?

There are several viable workflows, all comes down to where you are going to end up in the end.

Im doing screen grabs of each camera angle and saving them as a 4K TIFF then at the end of each day i give those to the D.P. so she can then put her own "recipe" into them and send those off to our CGI/ Color company (Grasshorse Mt. Pleasent, IA)They will be doing the initial color correction
