  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Post B16 comments here...

Also DCI specs include 48 FPS and especially with digital it seems like way to go in the future.

OK, you've got a point there. But then I'd opt for 50 fps for European HDTV…

Regards,

Uli

We are very happy with the upgrade to B16.

Can't wait for the Release Build...

That could be the next mile-stone, just as in this part of the world people would opt for 60 fps for North-American HDTV. For now 48 is nice and realistic film-related (non-TV) goal, that only needs a minor tweaks ti the drivers, HW, what else. 1 frame is all it takes. Let's see how much faster is the new 16 GB card and take it from there...

Can not shot slow shutter on RED? I use 360° /1FPS (1sec shutter) ,ASA320, 2k 16:9,redcode28, build_16_v3.1.5. There are many bright points and noise on REDLCD and some curious frames while I playback.Import R3D to Alert and REDCINE and check frames ,I find some "youtube Quality" frames.
Like this pic:
alert.jpg

there is normal quality but very noise Tiff export from Alert and redcine:
alert redcine
there is R3D file

Regarding the noise: it has already been pointed out that you should perform a new black shading for such long exposure times.

The rest seems to be the dreaded codec error.

Uli

Haskell, the LH1700W will go green if set to 1080 although the specs say it can read this signal ie 1080p. Wonder if the LH1700W is not compatible with the signal from Red SDI out.

I think that is normal with LH1700W. I found out you can set the gain and bias inside of color temp menu, when you set it to VAR# then it let you go inside of the parameter and adjust RGB gain and bias separately.

I've talked to many professionals here and they have same opinion that LT1700W in 1080 looks green.

Build 16 (v3.1.8)

Build 16 (v3.1.8)

And when set ASA 500/T3 is: I can get same latitude as ASA 100/F1.0.
Only T3's problem is deeper DOF.
I can shoot interiors with natural light set ups now.
WOW!

There is a typo in the word "magazine" in camera when you format a card or drive, its spelled wrong the 2nd time the word appears. FYI...This is not a complaint, just thought I would share. :)

CF issue - that's not a bug, the 8GB CF cards are not fast enough to support that combination of frame rate x resolution x quality.

Tried this on the drive the other day and got 'media not fast enough' error too.

29.97 / 4K / 16:9 thought this was possible?

Tried it today on another camera @ the lower redcode and it worked fine
