Hi There,
I've been testing my camera and several times after hitting the record stop button, the record light won't go off and it reads "POST" on the LCD. Anyone have any ideas? I let it sit for about 5 minutes before hitting the power button. When I connect the drive to the computer - the proxies aren't there.

I'm shooting in the morning and would love any help asap.

Thanks!

David, you may have a bad media or connection. Is this Red Drive or CF card? Lim

When the camera is in POST mode it is generating the quicktime proxies. If you've done long takes this can take quite a while.

You can easily generate the proxies on your computer through RED ALERT or RED RUSHES.

The media I'm using is the Red Drive and the takes are pretty short. As far as re-creating the proxies in RED ALERT or RED RUSHES - can you link to how that's done?

I had this same problem. It is almost certainly a bad card reader/writer. RED sent me a new reader/writer and the problem vanished.

Would a card reader be the problem if I'm using a RED drive and not a CF card?

David, it is usually a media problem. In Stephen case, it is his CF card reader. As you are using Red Drive, you either try another drive cable or another drive to test if you want to use Red Drive.

Otherwise, use CF card. I prefer CF all the time.

I had the same problem when we got our camera when using CF cards, something was wrong with the card reader and I had the camera sent to RED for repair. Now everything's okay.

No Proxies...

No Proxies...

Did you check the box in the menu that says create proxies or something to that effect?

I think it's ON by default but would be worth a shot to check on that.
