We may possibly be traveling to Paris, France to shoot a run and gun style music video. We are going to look into traveling with our own Red. But we will be looking into renting some accessories (Batteries, Lenses, etc). We're looking for help finding owners/production companies or rental houses that may be able to help out.

We are also looking for a production manager/liaison who speaks both English and French. So if you know anyone who might want to help with the shoot, please let me know. We are looking for someone familiar with the area, the laws and permits.

What we are looking to do is shoot bare bones. We are going to have the Red handheld with just a ring light. We are going to shoot all around with a crew of 3 people and 1 artist. So we're looking for help on setting this up as we are not familiar with the laws, permits and area. We'd like to shoot without a permit or just a general permit that would allow us to get shots around the city. Any advice?

Any advice, direction or recommendations would be excellent! Thanks in advance

If you've got the camera on tripod, and a crew, even small, you have to own a permit delivered by the city of Paris. I did sevral gun and run stuff in Paris, it's not an easy way. It's better to have someone to help you on this. Even with a small camera, you may run into problems depending on the people met. I don't want to scare you though...

Can you recommend anyone that would be a good production manager/liaison to help organize this for us?

I think the best bay would be top contact some Red rental companies (you have a small list in the Redusers group) based in Paris. They'll probably help you for the permits, it's not complicate, it's just boring. Other producers/managers/liaison will probably charge you for this.

I'm living in Paris, so if I can help you, I will ! Please contact me offlist : production@jcwolfarth.com

i did a run'n'gun short in paris almost 6 years ago with an aaton minima - we ended up getting kicked out of the metro, but got every shot without permit ;-)
