I could possibly buy an old 25-250 Angenieux but it has an anamorphic adaptor at the back. My rental house expert said it is difficult to remove because it is attached to the PL mount. Anybody know anything about this? And if possible does it have to be re-calibrated?

It's probably not that difficult to remove. you will need to re-calibrate and re mark the lens. And probably re-make the PL mount. Might not be worth the trouble on an old 25-250 ?

Hm, do you have a photo?

No, but let me make one first before trying anything.

I am working together with a rental house so for commercial projects I have every lens I need. But since they don't let me take the lenses out for playing around I am looking for something to put on my cam to do just that.

Has anybody done this before?

The 25-250 angenieux is certainly a great lens, however i am not familar with the different anamorphic used on them.

Sounds like you may not have to remove it if you install build 15! You're ahead of the game and don't even know it.

yeah :)
(buil 15 has anamorphic support)

Oh, that's great. Remove the adaptor in software! Hahaha!

Anyway, I don't think you can actually do de-anamorphic with built 15. The manual only says:

"Note: 4K, 3K and 2K 1.2:1 variants should only be used for anamorphic lenses. These modes are treated as 16:9 aspect ratio for the purpose of calculating maximum project frame rates."

So only 1.2:1 and only to calculate maximum frame rates.

Okay, I got some pictures. It is easy to remove the adaptor, but without it the lens is totally out of focus. Seems to me the PL mount should be closer to the front of the lens but I have no idea how difficult that is.

Anybody?
