  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Definite Scammer. Do not deal with anyone under this name responding to wanted to buy emails.

I haven't seen him around much.

It might help the community if we opened a buyer/seller spec thread. So say, thread header has the buyer/seller name, then people can comment below on how the deal went. Used to do that on old airsoft boards about ten years ago. It's like the equivalent to ebay feedback.
 
James Ramsey also posted a few FS threads, which I contacted him about. Later to find out that he is reposting for sale items from other known users.
 
I can confirm as well - 100% a scammer. Also goes by Clevon Steward (the paypal account he uses has that name now after he was impersonating another company) - if you google Clevon Steward you'll find all sorts of warnings of all sorts of scams across many forums.

if you traced it further than me, you might have gotten some kids at the end of it - I'd love to hear more details about that, and i'm sure everyone here would, just to know what to watch out for if they try a different method of scamming people.
 
The email I got with him saying he had the Canon mount I was looking for was from "Thomas Felder". Thomas Felder Films I believe. He had me use a paypal address of Honcho12333@gmail.com. I ended up emailing the person registered to the honcho email and he actually gave me his phone number to call. When I called, it sounded like a kid and he says, "honestly im not the person you are buying the item from. Some kid messaged me on facebook and asked if I had a paypal account to accept money into, and said I could keep some of the cash." Apparently the kid who put him up to it is 15 and was trying to buy a PS4 and the scam was the plan. Once I told the kid he was being used in a scam, he refunded the paypal transaction.

THIS IS GUY IS SUPER DANGEROUS, HE MUST HAVE SEARCHED THE FORUM, GOOGLED ME AND FOUND MY E-MAIL AND THEN MESSAGED ME.

HE'S FOR SURE GONNA GET SOMEONE, WISH WE COULD MAKE A STICKY ABOUT HIM.
