  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Possible Group buy on DZOFiLM Pictor Zooms

#1 How do warranty claims run?
It also depends on the condition the lenses occured, I think the best way is sent to china for the testing and maintaining, we need our testing and collimatior equipment for precisely maintaining.

#2 how fast could you ship out the lenses?

usually takes 3-5 days for ship out.

#3 what is the price for the case for two lenses?
108USD for the case - case is included in two lens bundle

The dual lens bundle comes with the case as a retail purchase, and no shipping charge, along with local warranty service. I am not sure this is sounding like such a great option overall for the small savings.
 
dont want to be a downer but i got it 2weeks ago, 2 lenses (black) with the case and with overnight shipping from UK to Slovenia for just around 4.050eur - regular price on cinegearpro.co.uk - without TAX,... just so you know that for european customers this might be a better option.

just as comparison.
the two bundle kit is 4.049,10 USD at the moment that's 3450 euros.
if the case is included, (and I think it should be since it is in the 2 lens set sales online) with shipping included you should get around 3550 Euros.

That would be around 12% save on the 4.050 eur.

im using them on Red Epic Dragon DSCM1 and Phantom VEO.
Slight vignetting on Dragon above F4 i think. Phantom I dont remember but had it full open last time
 
Nice, thanks for your effort! How can we make this happen Bastian? I'd be keen to purchase my set asap and then my friend would be later on? With other group buys i have done they just kept a list and then the company sent out purchase orders directly to each individual.

I am trying to sort out the Case and shipping thing with DZOFiLM. when this is all sorted I would say we should let it run for another week. Possibly with the option to order already during that time so the lenses reach you faster.
 
Good news. With the set of two lenses the case is included.

Single lens purchases are without case
 
Bastian, please put me down for the 2 lens set (white) w/case. Is it possible to put in an order before the group buy ends so I can get the lenses sooner?

Something important to consider for USA residents. You will likely have to pay import tax tariffs since this is coming directly from China and is high value. This could range anywhere from 10% to 25%, but do not take my numbers as the exact range to expect since I am not a tax advisor. Sure, you won't pay the tax now, but you will get a bill from US customs for a percentage of the amount DZOFilm claims them for.

From what I found out the duties on a imported lens from china into the us is 2.3% (Hs code : 90-2-11-90-0) additional Sales Tax (vat) depends on the states
 
Just a heads up for anyone hoping to use the EF mount on these (they ship with PL installed and a user changeable EF bayonet in the box), it's a little complicated. It's a non standard size and doesn't work with most speedboosters (according to other testers). I got the white set in yesterday and it doesn't work with the DSMC2 EF Kippertie Revolva. It just extends a little too far and touches the gate, preventing it from mounting. I've discussed it with the Kippertie team and they're working on a modification and will also make sure the upcoming Komodo EF Revolva can accommodate. I don't have a standard RED EF mount to test, but they suggested it probably has the same issue (but I can't confirm). It does work with both Canon RF to EF mounts (standard and drop-in) on my Komodo.

This is the first EF mount lens I've come across that doesn't work with the (current) Revolva.

The PL works fine with the RED PL mount and PL Revolvas.

and there was a post on an update from Kippertie, which says that only the old version of the revolver EF doesn't work.
Update on Kippertie Revolva... After Kippertie own testing with their lenses they are happy to report all Revolva will work with DZO Pictor lenses.
If customers are having issues they likely have the old version of Revolva with the optical block at the back of the mount. If this is the case they can have the Revolva upgraded through Kippertie and advised to contact them directly.

So I got the notice from DZOFiLM that the Group buy ends on 6th of September 23:59 PST and then also all the orders can be placed.
