Thought I'd post my experiences with a DZOFILM Pictor 20-55. First, positive, I'll make a note of the exceptional images, appearing to my eye as very "creamy". Loving the images the Pictor produces.
Second, just informational, I've worked with different Canon EF-RF adapters and have noted significant shifts in the backfocus when I change adapters. The difference between a straight thru adapter and a Canon VHD adapter, using either clear or Breakthrough VND's, is about .07 in. The VND adapter shows a difference of about .02 in between the clear and the VND, so, I can safely assume the remaining .05 in is due to build tolerances on the Canon adapters. Considering Canon's reputation, I'm surprised at their manufacturing sloppiness, .05 in is a lot, in optical terms.

When putting filters behind the lens, you change the FFD by 1/3 the thickness of the filter. That's why you always have to have a clear filter up if you aren't using anything else. I don't think the canon vnd mounts and filters were ever meant to be used with parfocalzooms.
