Hi,
We're on the verge of getting a new Mac Pro, one of the main reasons being its portability as a workstation. I travel with a Pelican 1510 case, which is FAA approved size so can be taken on flights as hand luggage on non-budget airlines. With the new Mac Pro, I'll be able to take the computer, 2 x 8GB G-RAID drives and all the cables I need with me wherever I go. The only missing piece of the puzzle is a screen that I could also fit into the case (if only I could use my MBP 17" as the screen for the nMP!)
There are a few USB-powered portable monitors around (eg. this and this ), so I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them and can recommend one? I imagine that none of them are ideal, nor the kind of thing you would want to work on most of the time, but I just need something that I can travel with and use with the nMP when I'm away from base.
Thanks!
