Portable harddrive - My Passport Pro RAID & ThunderBolt

[Uros Zuraj]

was looking for something small but still 3-4TB of space for daily backups on the shoot and found this harddrive by WD: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=1240

what do you guys think? anything similar on the market?
i like it but i dont see the point in TB as speeds are not that high while using RAID1...

Thunderbolt is required to deliver enough power to power two drives. If I were getting one I'd get the 2 x 1 TB version and attempt to replace the drives with two 2 TB Seagate drives. I don't know if it would work, but the 4 TB version is just a monstrosity.

that makes sense

It's the only one I can find that is bus powered. Seems pretty handy..might get one for my next project
