  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Some friends of mine used my studio for a photoshoot, i was hanging around just playing around trying to test some LED tubes i bought recently.
This is straight from Dragon apart from balancing temperature.
Shot with worn out Samyangs which are about to fall apart. 14,35,85
The lights are DIY, 2 LED tubes (12Eur each) mounted inside a plastic rain gutter and a custom made strobe LED light.
Shot inside my 400sqm Hangar, its basically my mancave.

That was awesome!

Love the ending too :)

The noise is that from?

Hi Eric, there was some noise on T3 due to high FPS and low light.

Basically these were the tubes from local DIY store. These particular ones are made in Romania i think and exported from Greece, loads of them on the market now, its a matter of choosing and testing proper ones.
Its by no means a replacement to Kino but it works well and its awesome on skin tones. I couldn't figure out whether it was giving a tiny bit of Green tint, but i know the Samyang/Rokinon/Xeen are giving a tiny bit of green tint which is fairly easy to balance out, had no other glass with me to test.

Oh I thought it was from hfr but I didnt think the DRAGON would get that noisy.

Still great work :)

There was a particular shot i wanted to test, FPS maxed out at 280? with a 2K crop, that one was bad yeah... and she was out of the spot in a darker area so yeah, that one fell apart.

Kalechi, this was by accident. Few months ago I've created a LED soft light out of 4 old portable panels (9v)..totalling 640 Leds. And i wired it up to a 12V DC Adaptor, but due to the bigger AMP demand from all 4 panels the DC adapter went into so called Hiccup Current Limit... basically began flashing :) I left it there for hours and it kept going. So there you go, worked ever since. I could add a capacitor and it would solve it but i thought it was awesome and left this one to serve as a strobe light.
