Another day I've found that inside the wikipedia:

Kodak has been widely criticized by environmentalists and researchers as one of the worst corporate polluters in the United States. According to scorecard.org, a web site that collects information on corporate pollution, Kodak is New York State’s number one polluter, releasing 4,433,749 pounds of chemicals into the air and water supply.

Kodak is just one company. And that is not counting transportation, extraction of raw material and disposal.

I also know that Kodak have a lot of programs of health, safety and enviroment.

As you can see here:
http://www.kodak.com/US/en/corp/HSE/homepage.jhtml?pq-path=2879/7196

But appears that wikipedia is updated:
http://www.scorecard.org/ranking/ra...ips_state_code=36&sic_2=All+reporting+sectors

So...
What's the true?
How much the photographic film industry is polluting the world?
And what about RED?

Just for the record: I am not a greenpeace member. I am just concerned like everybody else and researching.

That might help understand me:

If some one have a opinion or a new information I will be glad to know.

Thanks

Just think about the amount of filmstock and chemicals that were needed for worldwide release of a movie in the scale of the Lord of the Rings - 10.000 copies...

A great news is that Odeon (the largest cinema theater company in Europe) is changing all the old film projectors to 2K digital projectors.

Look,

Were all screwed anyway. We can deal with the massive amounts of chemicals produced by Kodak, or we can deal with all the emissions from the power plants that have to pump out huge amounts of electricity to drive digital projectors.

Digital projectors don't take anymore power than their film projector counterparts. The major power consumer, the lamp, is the same in either case. The electronics in a digital projector only pull about 200w worst case aside from the lamp system.

And not everyone lives in an area where most of their energy comes from emissions.

One of the world's largest windfarms is about 180 miles from me along with multiple dams and a nuclear power plant.

emissions don't respect borders. Also, it's incorrect to think that there are no emissions from nuclear power plants, that's just a keynote phrase of a massive (and fraudulent) nuclear industry spin campaign.

A funny rumor, some math student figured pirated software/media/films/music on net have caused several BN $ in lost revenue for companies ... BUT all this digital distribution have also saved environmental damages for several hundreds of BN $!! ..so steal a film, save a three ;) ...even better buy it on-line.

I just read in the papers today about tooth paste and other basic hygiene chemicals and how they poison our oceans. I think film chemicals might be an underdog there, when it comes to tons released.

www.gp.se (you search there if you have the lingo skills)
