Do you guys do this?

Or do you always try to light with 5500k and cooler on RED Sensors?

Trying to get a warm interior "Out of Sight" look and still get non noisy images.

I shoot with tungsten lights all the time and no noise...

That's been my experience, but I thought maybe I was missing something.

What ISO are you guys running?

Great Shots, Matt.
Very Encouraging -- Thanks for Sharing.

Thank you,
I shot those at 500ISO. I tend to shoot 500 for most interiors/low light, and 800 for daylight.

Here's a tungsten green screen at 500ISO.

I like the look of 3200 when it's made to look very warm -- i.e. white balancing for Daylight under Tungsten.

Is this a bad practice?

There's no such thing as bad practice when you are achieving the look you are going for. I have seen a ton of stuff shot with Tungsten on R!, R! MX, and Epic. Usually no issues unless under lit and starving the blue channel.

Lighting at 3200 is absolutely fine unless you underexposed and want to correct to a colour ballanced or a blue look...

That said I have been shown suspect footage (multiple times) for advice where someone has worked with dimed down tungsten (under 2800k), underexposed 2+stops then wanted to correct back to ballanced. Eachtime there was too much noise in the blue channel and post was having problems...

Give it some stop, optically filter, accept a warm look, don't drop bellow 3000k... There are lots of solutions and as always test if worried.

As long as your raw is healthy, 3200k is just fine. The MX sensor is a big improvement over the M.

Never had an issue with tungsten even on the M R1...

Yeah, the key is proper exposure and you will be fine. It's when you try to push the image that you get issues.
