  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Pocket Dolly Slider for Scarlet

Usually my MYT Works sits on a set ofPro HD 150mm ball head sticks - rock solid in the studio or on location. On occasion, I've been forced to use them on a set of less sturdy (think e-image) sticks with either 100mm or 75mm ball - in those scenarios a baby c-stand under one end helps to steady.

But it's the head that makes the difference on holding the slider steady end to end, right? I guess the need is actually for a cheap head that can withstand at least 60 or so pounds...

Also, does anyone know of any good slider heads? I need one that mounts on a flat surface for the Rhino Slider, not a ball head. I have a little manfrotto one right now that really shouldn't be carrying all this RED weight.

Flat heads are not that common. Off the top of my head, the MAnfrotto 502HD Flat Base comes to mind.

Huh? You want to mount the slider to sticks via a fluid head?

Yes Bob - two different questions… I'm sure we will discuss them tomorrow in the studio.

Yes, they were separate.

1. What is a good, cheap head and tripod kit that can withstand a 4 foot Rhino slider atop and side to side? Would prefer it NOT to be a fluid head to save money.

2. Which flat head is the best for a slider with a 3/8 inch mount? The one I have now can't withstand the Scarlet's weight when tilted down (nor can the Manfrotto 502 I imagine because it only has max payload of 8.8). I'd prefer not to buy a hi hat mount to just put a ball bearing head on because it gets too heavy and high. This looks like my best option thus far: http://www.ebay.com/itm/EI717AH-Pro...30308786415?pt=US_Tripods&hash=item1e570248ef

It can hold 13 lbs and appears to be a knock off of the old Varizoom head I used to have (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...VZ_TK75A_VZ_TK75A_Aluminum_Tripod_System.html)

I'm looking for a slider and the new Edelkrone Slider Plus v2 seems a great option!

I read that someone got a 20% discount with it. How could I get a discount too?

Do you think this slider, the smaller version, would work well with a Blackmagic camera?

Weight... I'm still not convinced it will be good enough to hold a complete rig. And you've to add the weight of a tripod-head too.
BTW, which one would you get?

I like the design, the price-tag and the upcoming options. But will the "medium" version really hold up with Scarlet/EPIC?

That promotion is probably long gone... But i'm interested too. :)

Why shouldn't it? Less weight, way more in the specs than a rigged RED.

Also have a look at their homepage: http://www.edelkrone.com/slider-plus
I do see a BM-camera on that picture. ;)
