I haven't had a chance to play with Raffi's app yet, but couldn't this just be a matter of "there's only one obvious way to do certain things"?
I recommend you run these two apps side by side and you'll notice there is obvious plagiarism in the ways they are implemented. And those ways are not- 'the only one obvious way to do certain things'. Far from it.
Also you are losing Ed's nice field of view function just to make room for a useless 'About Us'/free advertising button in addition to the banner ad that's already on every screen. Maybe Raffi's programmer doesn't know how to program sliding buttons on the iPhone in order to make more room for the ad. Also, iSee4K remembers which menu you were using when you restart, while Pocket DIT starts up on the first screen every time. So it's not even a particularly good copy...
Ed's a good guy who made a very useful application for RED and has never expected any sort of mandatory payment for his hard work. He's been a class act about calling this foul as it is. If you value that sort of innovation you'll recognize this is just a cheap attempt to profit off someone else's work instead of something actually new and useful for RED users.
I'd be a lot more impressed if Raffi did the right thing and removed his application from iTunes for now and stripped away all of the 'homage' features. A true menu simulator and Bluetooth start/stop sound like something new and useful that we don't already have.
