Thank you thank you guys. Great to know that our brothers will come in dire need :)
The viewfinder solution looks great Ketch. Have you decided to get the PagLinks by the way? Will check it out!

You attach the adaptor plate to the module adaptor or directly to the brain. Looks like the module adaptor.

Ketch, your rig truly looks spectacular!

It has to attach directly to the brain. You can't have any modules attached to the camera and still use a v-mount battery. That is, until RED releases their new v-mount module.

You bought a digital video camera and have no idea how to attach the batteries? Wow

I think the question was "do I really have to spend $2000 to use my bricks?"

I'm quite happy with my MG1 Scarlet Standard plate. Its the cheapest option out there for attaching a V-mount battery plate to the back of your camera. They have a Pro line but more expensive.

I went with the cheapo way. But there are lots of options.

Hello everyone. I have spent countless hours and am becoming crazy because I cannot find the answer...

How do you actually attach a V-Mount battery like PagLink on the Red Epic?

Do I really need both the Quickplate http://www.red.com/store/products/backpack-quickplate-m for $650

and the

DSCM Backpack for $1200
http://www.red.com/store/products/epic-backpack-m
so nearly $2000 for putting a battery on?

Do i have any other options?

If anyone can help I would much appreciate it!

Mm, yes not my brightest moment, but seriously its very hard to find any explanations for how to put non red batteries on the camera. Also I haven't bought the camera yet so it's a bit hard to figure out what to buy before you held on in your hands :)

The Viewfactor plate looks great! Have you guys been able to get the battery information through to the display? I heard that only some of the v-plates would actually let "through" the information to the Brain. I heard there were some troubles with the swixtronix for example.

Thanks for the help to my beginner questions.

The most important information to have is battery voltage. This information is transmitted perfectly to the camera through the Viewfactor plate.

I think the top result there makes it pretty obvious :)
