Could someone please explain the back-focus lens flange depth adjustment? Does is have a mechanical "link" to the lens flange depth? or does it "slide" When trying to calibrate a zoom today I don't seem to be getting "positive feedback" from the adjustments. It seems like I can turn it and nothing happens until a certain point.. And I may be able to get the same focus at different rotation points on the adjustment depending on how fast I turn it. It kind of acts like one of those focus controls on a HDV camera that adjusts but has no real physical connection to anything. I mean could I mark the adjustment and have it be consistent? Thanks for your input!

Hi,

Sounds like you should get you camera & lens checked by a camera tech who has worked with Red cameras.

That doesn't answer my question..

Thanks for the reply, however it fails to answer any of my questions regarding how the lens flange adjustment actually works. Anyone from RED care to respond?

Hi,

Your lenses should be collimated & no adjusment should be necessary. Red has a PL mount, it's not a video camera. You should go to a professional camera tech to fix cour camera.

Edit if you search the forum you will find your question has been answered many times.
