Hi, as I understand, the DRAGON sensor has no issue in coverage with anamorphic zooms? I have a project that I want to shoot with the Angenieux Optimo Anamorphic Zoom 56-152/f4. I was wondering what the crop factor and FOV would be in the 6K ANA setting. Also - what is the final aspect ratio for that setting - is it 2.35, 2.40? Any help much appreciated! Thanks!

If you read the data sheet, you will find:

FIELD OF VIEW FOR 35mm 4 perf. (22x18.6 mm)
Focal Length: 56 mm 152 mm
Horizontal angular field of view: 42.8° 16.4°
Vertical angular of view: 18.7° 7.1°

The 22mmx18.6mm image size implies a 4400 x 3720 resolution image circle, which is larger than the DRAGON's sensor (which is 3160 pixels max, or 15.80mm). 6K 3:2 gives you 4752x3160, which means 8% wider (if the lens has the coverage) and about 18% less height. Assuming the lens does have the coverage, you could finish with an aspect ratio of anything from 3:1 to HD. But if you stick with 2.4:1 or some such, you'll end up masking the width and the height forces 18% as your crop factor.

Alternatively you could shoot 6K 6:5 which is 3792x3160. That would be 16% less wide and 18% less height. You could squint and say that the crop factor is 17%.

It's just math, and how you choose to interpret the math.
