  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

You are correct, some contain images from our corporate clients, as well as our network clients. There is no video contained in that link, however.

As Ketch's host, the 5 models above will be in full-body catsuits. From the info we received, the idea is that Ketch will film them playing with paint-filled water balloons. He intends to shoot 5K at 120fps. I believe they will post out the slow-mo of the paint splatter and some HDR demonstrations.

We'll have more info later tonight as Ketch and Joseph arrive this evening from DC.

As a preview of the catsuits, I've uploaded a picture shot with a camera phone during Bobbi's fitting. Of course we are highly biased, but I think she looks amazing in her outfit.

Although I am extremely grateful to Ketch for all the information he's shared with us over the years, I have often wondered why a huge portion of the camera demonstrations on this site (from several users) has been of women in underwear and bikinis. It's really none of my business, and everyone is free not to look if they are sensitive, but it does tend to overshadow the other work posted and I believe it creates a certain image of the average Reduser.

Again, this is not a shot at Ketch, just an observation since Liam broached the topic. Sorry for hijacking your thread, Ketch.

Our firm's role is to "capture beauty in everything from the ordinary to the extraordinary (sm)", we always try to celebrate the female form. Ironically, I was thinking just the opposite - up until recently, anecdotally, I don't remember seeing alot of "fashion/women/etc" on reduser.

I love Jarred's photo shoot he did in NY a bit ago. We also like the DSMC link that contains postings all the recent work (Vogue, etc.). Band Originale is one of our favorites, especially the Paris skateboarding work and the water action (probably because it reminds us of Belize so much).

Again, I haven't counted the actual content, but we thought just the opposite.

Well, at least you were respectful. Not to derail this thread (and admittedly, I overreacted) but my gripe with Liam's post was that it was just condescending in it's verbiage without question or explanation -- and Ketch is a good friend with the best of intentions (especially for this community), so I felt obligated to jump in.

In terms of what you said ... I disagree that there have been a "huge portion" of the demonstrations have contained women in underwear and bikinis. That would imply more than 50% of the Epic tests and footage, and it's not even close. Apart from Mark's feather test, the 2nd half of Ketch's Beauty test, this one and maybe another ... it's all I've seen. Am I missing any others?

Overall, there have been close to 15-20 different little things shot with the Epic thus far (depending on how you define them) -- so we're talking less than 25%.

In Ketch's case, I think it just randomly happened that the beauty/model shoots happened fairly early -- and I know he has many other types of things planned -- also don't forget that he did one with Gibby sans models and attempted to with Tom Lowe, before the weather went bad.

All in all, don't think it's such a big deal.

Sorry again Ketch -- won't derail again, back to the shoot and eager to see how this shoot goes and how the Epic handles these colors at the high frame rates.

Thanks Jack, by the way, for streaming this. It's cool to see social media and live interaction being used on an Epic test
and am excited to see what kinds of questions people ask Ketch, as well as just seeing the prep and execution of this.

So, first I'm a hater, now I'm condescending and disrespectful. None of which are true.

I don't know why you've got a hard on for me, I don't know who you are or what you do and I'm sure you know next to nothing about me. Anyway, it doesn't matter, this is the internet after all. But just so you know, when I see playmates, latex and liquid balloons in a sentence to describe a shoot I think it's fair to describe that as soft porn, particularly when the company hosting the video have an awful lot of it on their site. People can shoot what they like and I certainly don't judge anyone, but I do find it funny, which is why I used a smilie in my original post - to denote humour being used - maybe you missed that.

Sorry, I missed the smiley face. I guess I was overreacting :( My bad. I apologize. You're right, I don't know you, vice versa.

I just thought it was fairly clear the intent of the shoot was to showcase how the Epic sensor handled the splattering of intense colors in 120fps.
Yes, there are other ways to test this ... it's supposed to be sexy and now I understand your reference about the website. But there
IS a technical aspect worthy of testing, that it seemed like you were dismissing.

Now, I see that you weren't and stand corrected.

Anyway, I'm going to shut up -- I've taken enough away from Ketch's otherwise awesome thread and any mod is free to delete my posts here.
