Can you program using the soft keys?

Boot the redmote, then go into key setup in the Epic's menu, hit the button you want to use on the redmote and in the key setup you can then scroll down to the playback options.

Which is a pain in the butt to use if you are on a rig like the movi. The REDMote works far better than it used to, but people are stuck with how it worked when it first came out and not now. Not saying that the WIFI isn't better, but the REDMote works fairly well now at short distances (which is great for the movi.)

I noted that the Redmote has gotten a lot better alsol...I'm not sure when that changed, but I upgraded my Redmote & firmware on my cam and was pleasantly surprised!

The redmote is such an amazing tool that I feel gets a bad rap. I've used it to rack focus when the camera was rigged above talent over a bed several times. It's amazing what it can do when given a fair chance.

well most of us who think it's crap got it early.
Maybe it's working now, but... the battery is dead for so long, i can't even try it again.

My REDmote worked great from day 1 (I know, I am lucky), and I was an early owner. From what others are saying, many more are having success with it now. It's a very nice tool, although the new Foolcontrol for iOS (with HotLink or REDlink) is also going to be terrific.

To resurrect the battery, try pugging it into your computer USB port for an extended period.
