Hi there,

Has anyone else had problems playing back clips from the touchscreen (my only available option at the moment). I've been through the manual and the forum but found nothing. When I try to playback the clip loads up and displays the first frame but the controls at the bottom are non-responsive and swiping the drag-bar doesn't do anything. Any ideas?

Thanks

James

Restart the camera... it happens from time to time, especially on long takes.

you will find after restart all the controls are back.

This also happens to me a lot when there are 'no playback' 5Kana clips on the SSD.

I've noticed that, if the last clip is 5Kana (not compatible with playback yet), the way the playback function 'seems' to work is by loading the last clip recorded. if it's a 5Kana that seems to send the Epic into a a bit of a loop... then, if there is another 5Kana preceding it, the chances of being able to load a clip (that is playback compatible) seem to diminish (rapidly) - and then you get into a loop where the controls are grayed out - but the camera can still function/record.

Hope RED get 5Kana playback in the next build or beta :)

Mark's right, just reset - it doesn't take long.

Anamorphic playback isn't functional in 2.0.x, thus the error message. But you should be able to load other clips by hitting the media button and selecting another clip. If you still have trouble please send in the log and file a support ticket.

Hi - I'm still testing the Epic and have reformatted the SSD. I'm currently moving onto more testing (that's getting me used to the sensor).

I know 5Kana playback isn't functional ATM as I mentioned in my post (hope it is soon - as I have some ana projects coming on stream!)... just fingers crossed on 4KAna on both EPIC and Scarlet - plus playback soon :)

I didn't see the point in filing a support ticket, as I'm still testing (just as we used to in the 'old' days - getting familiar with issues/caveats/gotchas) - and, to be honest, it's not a showstopper... and, as Ana playback isn't supported, I figured it's 'no biggie'.

But, I can always have a go at repeating the error.

Just checked - hadn't formatted the SSD (so my test clips are still there) and I can cause the grey playback menu failure (greyed out) easily... but plus side is I know how to avoid it too ;)

To echo what I've just said, it's not a major issue and I think it's 'helped along' by my mixture of 5KAna and varispeed clips (5K/4K/3K/2K) - so I think I've created a lethal cocktail of long clips (as per Mark Toia's reply) and 5Kana.

I've also re-created the error on a 'virgin' SSD (out of the box) with two clips - 5Kana/5kws (both with the lens cap on - LOL).
