  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Playback options for EPIC-M as of now??

Guys- the KI pro mini simply records the HD-SDI feed from the camera. It doesn't handle over or under cranking any differently than a tape deck. In other words, it records the real-time picture output of the camera. Timecode will only be good for shots taken at the project frame rate.
AJA have said that when playback is enabled in camera, the KI pro mini will be able to take the play/ stop flags in the HD-SDI stream to trigger recording also, so that is how slo-mo shots will record slo-mo to the KI Pro mini.
Hopefully it will be easy (one touch) to toggle the record trigger on the KI Pro Mini from the camera record flag, to playback flag, and back, so that the KI Pro Mini doesn't make a new file every time a shot is played back...

Mark,

I had bad experience with AjA KiPro. We did some test using Weisscam ( running at 1000fps ), and KiPro recorded a FALSE timecode. It was triggered from playback.
Maybe others who owns KiPro or KiPro Mini can share their experience about this.

I wouldn't expect the Kipro or much else to be able to handle more than the standard frame rates. All of our monitors can't either, just a select few formats outputted and made compatible via the camera.
