Playback Discrepancy

I was shooting with Build 20.1.2 last several days and found a big problem.

During the shoot I set the zebra lines was at 100-108% and did not notice any zebra line in the shot. However, when I play back the clip later I saw a significant area with zebra lines come on.

And than I open the same clip with RED Alert, everything seemed normal without any over exposure.

Now I don't know how to determine exposure.

Can anyone shed some light on this matter?

It's been like that since Build 17. Playback seems to be a stop more.

Are you playing back with clip setting or camera setting? If camera setting it will playback using current settings, so if you have adjusted ISO or any other metadata it will play with the most current settings. Clip settings will play back with what was shot at the time.

Not sure that is your problem, but just wanted to confirm which one you are using.

Got it. That's exactly what happened. It's been too long since I last ran into this situation. Thanks for the reminder.

Come to think about it, there is almost no reason to have the choice of playing back a recorded clip with the current camera setting, in my not-so-humble opinion. Are there really any practical use for it?

Perhaps if you wanted to see how the clip would look with a different look applied. But if you need to see how the clips looked as shot, then the clip setting probably can stay on.
