just still trying to work out which Panasonic Plasma is the better... The Professional 12 Series or the VT25 Consumer.

I have read that the VT25 is a better display than the Professional but wouldn't like confirmation before taking the plunge.

Best way is to see and feel (by adjusting) them in person.
Series 12 (limited with certain sizes) does give you more controlled output than consumer V2, but V2 and VT25 give you solid black "look" (I said look because the RGB balance in that range is actually off).

We have Series 12 calibrated to Sony BVM-D24 master monitor and no one complain Series 12 being off or black being not black.

But then wait, I think Panasonic should be coming out with master monitor level plasma soon. So buying VT25 for now could be good. At least you can use VT25 for client display later and the 3D viewing.

Hey Kaku, do you have a date of the Master Monitor?

What is all the fuss over the Pioneer Kuro?
Have you check out the Panasonic Premiere Series?

In Japan, for consumer, we only have VT2 (equivalent to VT25?) and V2. I guess these are equivalent to Premiere series. These panels are made with additional technologies from Kuro. It's the first generation that they adopted the technology, so I'd say it would get better on the next one that I'm hoping. But V2 was so cheap, I didn't mind using it now, then get something newer later again, so I bought it for my suite.

Master Monitor should be coming soon so maybe IBC or InterBEE? No sure date,

As Jeff mentioned before that the PF20 is a series with the latest blackpanel which is the same as V2, but with professional slot interface to make HDSDI connection possible.

Does the PF20 come with HDMI 1.3 or 1.4 or do you have to purchase the slot board separately?

Does the Pro series come with HDMI or do you have to purchase the slot separately and does it support 10bit video (1.3 or 1.4)

So are the Pioneer Kuro the best Plasma's out there? Should i be looking for a cheep Kuro instead of going with the Panasonic?

I've been looking over the fence (and spotted the grass that is greener!) but unfortunately, they're not importing Mitsubishi Laservue to Europe.

So I've settled with the thought of having the Panasonic VT20 whenever I can afford to get one.

Is the Laservue line accurate (color wise), like the panny line?
I can't find much on it, other then that its color space far expands Rec 709..

I don't see why it wouldn't be. But I'm by no means qualified to say so.. I've been working on Panasonic broadcast LCDs for a couple of years and have no experience with projectors, plasmas or other LCD displays.

I'm not satisfied with the BT-LH1700w. The view angle needs to be dead on, or else the colors will look wrong. The Laservue looks interesting for that matter. Especially its size, power consumption and color space. But that might not be a good thing? I interpret your sentence it's not.

-Non-uniform brightness
-2.5 % overscan
-Viewing angle = not as good as plasma
-Motion resolution = not good

Laservue certainly looks interesting. I will look around to see if we can do some testing.

I'm still not sure which is the best plasma to get.
Professional seems limited with no HDMI 1.3 and Panasonic making you purchase the HDSDI board to get 10bit - or is this info wrong.

OhaHaldor,

The motion resolution = not good might be not true. I do have the latest generation plasmas so if I get to see the Laservue, I can report how that is.
