To make the RED ONE lighter for some hand-held work, I'm interested in using a still canon lens with it. Can anyone give me some tips?

1) Any recommended adaptors to make the still lens fit? I've been looking into Birger mounts, is that the best one out there?

2) And which Canon lens would be best to get a sharp image?

Thanks!

You might want to check out the All Star A-mount. That system allows you to adapt almost any lens for the RED. The last I heard, the latest Birger mounts void your warranty with RED so if you go down that road, I would definitely look into that and get definite answers before making your purchase.

If you go with Nikon still glass, there are several manufacturers that make a mount for the RED (Red, Optitek, etc). I've heard good things about the Optitek nikon mount but haven't used it. http://www.optitek.org/NikonProLock.pdf
