For a project I am looking into lenses that can transmit /i information - whats out there in the PL world that does that? - all I can see is the Cooke's - anything else?

was hoping that the RED 17-50 would do that but apparently it does't :/

Nothing but Red lenses are currently working from what I can tell. I've used Epic many times from different owners and with different firmware... i/technology is not a working feature yet for non-red lenses... grrrrrrrr. Why? Who knows... seems like an easy enough fix considering MX did it just fine with the exception of having to occasionally restart the camera to recognize a lens change.

So the RED primes have /i data but the zooms not?!!?

The opposite.

These do...
RED 18-50mm Zoom
RED 50-150mm Zoom

I've used the 17-50, but did not really test the i/technology data or even see if it had the contacts. Thus I cannot say either way about the 17-50. Same goes with the 18-85... I just don't know. I'm assuming they don't since I've not heard of it, but don't take that as fact.

Arghh... Don´t want to go with stills glass :/
I read somewhere that the 17-50mm is "dumb" but that was on a side note in a different thread - if the 18-50mm was /i it wouldn´t make much sense that the newer 17-50 is without it would it?!?! Really want the 17-50mm for the experiment :( but can´t have it if its dumb.
anybody out there with a 17-50mm who can shed some light please?!?!
