  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

If it was an EPIC, it'd be a lot easier. 2 RED One's kinda would make things difficult, wouldn't they...

Definitely make it heavy. Panavision has around 4 of the Quasar rigs, which will handle 2 reds.

For a feature film like this, the producers, cinematographer, director-- they can work with any camera they desire. Naturally they'll decide what camera and format best fits the production. The makers of Pirates of the Caribbean chose Red.

Their choice speaks volumes.

Yes it does speak volumes. I hate getting into pissing matches with people about the RED camera. Point is that it will smoke any other camera out there. Want proof, Pirates 4...now go pound sand.

*ahem* will the film be rated 'AARRRRRR!' ?

(and now I find myself banished from RedUser forever....)

Why not EPIC Jim.

For 3D EPIC would be great.

ARRR! :ihih:

I be Nasty Pete.

I'm here to plunder your women and steal your gold.

Nice. That's a major addition to RED's resume, even if the movie were to suck.

Fantastic news, Congratulations out to everyone at Red and Light Iron.

I have a feeling that they're shooting on MX RED ONEs rather than Epic. How far away is principal photography? It'd be a bit early for Panavision to have Epics ready and Panavized right now.

If it was someone like Soderbergh directing I'm sure he could convince the studio to shoot with Tattoo but this is a big Disney franchise with a new director to the series.

Loking forward to seeing footage now.
