Picking a GPU

Hello, looking for some advice.

I'm trying to choose between an nvidia 708ti 3gb vs. a 780 6gb card. Essentially the trade off seems to come down to speed vs. memory. Does anyone know if Adobe Premiere Pro on a mulit-monitor system will get more out of the memory or the clock speed when working on r3d footage.

Premiere wont use more than the 3GB of Vram on the 780Ti for most projects. The 6GB card is really more for Davinci. I would either get the 780Ti or Titan Black edition if you want 6Gb of Vram.

I don't recall if it's ASUS or EVGA, but one (maybe both?) offer a 780 Ti with 6GB. Although, from what I recall, you can spend another $60 and just get the Titan Black, so not really an advantage there.

If you use DaVinci, I would recommend the 6GB version. Also be aware that if you do use Resolve (or any other app that supports multiple GPUs), it will only use the amount of RAM equivalent to your lowest-spec'd GPU. So if you have a 3GB 780 card and a 6GB Titan card, it will only use 3GB from each. This may have changed with the release of Resolve 11, but I'm not sure.
